Google Calendar is a free calendar tool that offers many features for a school. As a free tool, Google Calendar is a powerful asset for your website.
Sharing events from multiple Google Calendars and presenting a single calendar with all of the events to your site visitors is a great way to keep everyone informed of upcoming games, school holidays and performance events, just to name a few.
The Google Calendar can be added to any Joomla article by pasting Google provided code into a Static HTML module, publishing that module to a unique position and then loading the module in the article with the
{ loadposition position_name }

Your Google Calendar account will provide you the necessary code to paste into a module by going to settings and then Calendar Details. Look for the tab "Embed This Calendar." You have the option to style the displayed calendar beyond the default by clicking on the link to 'Customize the color, size, and other options' link in the same parameter. By customizing the options you can specify many settings, including the size of the calendar, allowing you to display a smaller version in a side module if you wish.
